Several companies produce these universally used dressings; they can be used in the Godoy & Godoy Method. Elastic and inelastic bandages are the most commonly used materials in the treatment of lymphedema throughout the world today. However, a number of limitations make their day-to-day use difficult. Godoy & Godoy use wraps when necessary, when they provide benefits and contribute to treatment. In less serious lymphedemas elastic stockings or sleeves are a good option, thus Godoy & Godoy recommend that after the lymphedema has been reduced to near normal, maintenance should use elastic compression garments.
